Ripples

If I should cast a pebble in a lake,

it matters not,

that the ripples venture not beyond the lake,

but that in that instance something changed,

for that moment something I did,

moved something else,

I was the reason for that change,

Whether man or creature have seen is irrelevant,

I have seen,

and my soul has healed,

if only by an inch that day.

Thank you!!!

For your support but mostly for your posts this year that have made me laugh, cry, taught me things I never knew, inspired me and permitted me to share in your world.

I look forward to reading more next year. :-)

Happy 2012, may it be filled with everything you dream of and much, much more!

I shall write you in 2012.

Stay safe.

BEFORE YOU WALK OUT THE DOOR

 On quivering legs,

she reaches the door,

frantic to escape,

the man that snores,

she stretches up,

trying so hard,

for those few inches more,

between her legs,

an aching bleeding sore,

she peeks over the windowsill,

to her picture perfect home,

 next door,

desperate for that familiar,

engine roar,

yearning for the voice,

that will restore her world,

 once more,

until the next time,

her mummy needs to go,

 to the store

She bites down to stop moans escaping

nauseating lips brush down her neck  past bruises on her back,

 She holds her breath waiting,

repulsive stench of alcohol fills her nostrils saturating her whole being

 He caresses her cheeks,

 he has slapped repeatedly

 Tenderly traces her nose,

 he makes bleed frequently

She twitches as he strokes and caresses

over and past fresh bruises left by pounding fists

His pace quickens so does she,

she moves carefully to protect ribs kicked recently

She moves to meet him,

incase he thinks she’s faking this

Moans and groans burst forth finally free,

timed and building to release

 Together they soar,

 to compliment his masculinity

“Was it as good for you as it was for me,” he whispers ever so tenderly

I was hesitant on posting this piece. Anyway here goes.  Pls Let me know if you get it.

Little boy on the street

 Little boy on the street,

worried about what to eat,

wondering where to sleep,

mom’s on the piss,

dad’s doing deals,

knows if he goes home,

he’s gonna be beat,

for telling about the drugs,

under the kitchen sink,

decides to turn a trick,

just one to meet his needs,

goes with a creep,

Who wants more than,

he’s prepared to give,

ends up 6 feet deep,

so his mama needs a drink,

and daddy do more deals,

to protect his sister,

from the streets.

Been trying to have a baby for  a while now so this piece came from that experience.  I wish it was as easy as my 8yr old said, “just go to the store and get one.”   When I sat down to write it, all I could get was the clock ticking in my head.
