BEFORE YOU WALK OUT THE DOOR
On quivering legs,
she reaches the door,
frantic to escape,
the man that snores,
she stretches up,
trying so hard,
for those few inches more,
between her legs,
an aching bleeding sore,
she peeks over the windowsill,
to her picture perfect home,
next door,
desperate for that familiar,
engine roar,
yearning for the voice,
that will restore her world,
once more,
until the next time,
her mummy needs to go,
to the store

Congratulations, I’ve nominated you for the Versatile Blogger award: http://miropoetry.wordpress.com/2011/12/30/warrior-trophies/
Thank you!
Great piece! You have a gift, my friend.
My heartstrings are pulled beyond recognition. Your words are always so moving. One of my good friends was sexually abused by her father when she was young and your poem describes her situation perfectly.
Oh, and on a happier note, I love your new theme!!! Excellent choice!!
Have a Happy New Year!!!!

Thank you for all your support this year. I pray your friend is in a better place in life now.
I’m glad you like it. It took me ages of previewing the others until I tried out this one and it felt right.
As for the theme.
Another heartbreaker. Thank you, Maiya, for sharing your heart with us.
Hello my new friend, thank you for your comments and I do hope you come back again.
Maiya…. truly touching and intriguing blog. Thanks for the follow and looking forward to more poetry.
Thank you for subscribing. I must say I love your photography.
OH! Maiya, that is horrible, not your poem that is beyond good, it is spot on. The subject is just so horrible I wrote one on the subject too. It makes me cringe and heavy. You wrote a master piece, may it make people stop and think. Please God.
this mine http://willowdot21.wordpress.com/2011/12/02/why-so-sad/ I do pray that this abuse will stop but how can we stop it.
I love your piece. It brought tears to my eyes.
